The Role
As the Capability Development Lead, you are the driving force behind the management of the product engineering team. You are responsible for the day-to-day operations and work together with your team to stimulate new opportunities and optimize current working conditions. The goal is to build a world-class portfolio within the Power Generating, Avionics, and Hydraulics/Pneumatics departments that sets us apart on a global scale.
You will take the lead in creating the strategic flight map to grow the current portfolio. This involves setting challenging goals for your team, guiding them, motivating them, and inspiring them to always exceed expectations. You are responsible for defining and executing the competence development agenda and identifying and implementing improvements where necessary.
Success in this role is about actively engaging with various departments, including (CMRO) Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement, to maximize financial and operational results. Within the team, you play an involved and proactive role, being indispensable in promoting and improving team performance.
The Team
You are part of the program management team at Schiphol and report to the Technical Services (TS) department. Working closely with a team of product engineers, you collaborate with the (CMRO) Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality departments to deliver top performance.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the team of product engineers to achieve set goals.
  • Foster and cultivate a pleasant and inspiring work environment focused on job satisfaction and well-being.

Development and Improvement:

  • Stimulate new opportunities and optimize current working conditions together with your team.
  • Maintain and nurture a high-quality global portfolio.

Innovation and Technology:

  • Explore new technologies for maintenance and repair to further enhance and develop our capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Shop Management to solve technical challenges.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Good understanding of the Dutch language.
  • Knowledge of aviation and MRO with the ability to translate it to engineering and operational levels.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and explaining aircraft maintenance manuals, among others.
  • Effective communication style to convey operational needs to management.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a positive approach to complex problems.
  • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel and Access.
